This is what I want to get into!

If I can some how master this look, that's how I KNOW I've made it. I'm getting sea sick just looking at those finger waves!

my journey to become a platform artist for a day

So just last weekend was one of the most life changing experiences ever! I was selected as one of three representatives of my school to participate at the Spring Style Show as a student platform artist for the Paul Mitchell stage. though it was pretty darn nerve wrecking, I felt like that was the time that was given to me to show what I was made of.

So here is my journey to the spring style show...

this is my model JB's hair. My goal was to make her a nice blonde with a triangular one length. Notice how her hair is a very dark reddish black color...

So after 5 quick mins. we have ourselves a very rough triangular one length

now let the fun begin...

Platinum card baby! ...when they say, "no one cries in beauty school" make sure you show them this haha

Didn't think i could pull it off didn't you??

And there you have it... That was my journey into the Spring Style Show!

Photo Shoot (sneak peak)

So here's a piece that I made for my current photoshoot for school (its a treble clef for those who couldn't figure it out). I must admit... I was pretty pleased with how well it turned out! with the limited amount of hair we had to use, I was surprised on how big the style looked.

First post (the intro)

I finally figured out how to start a real blog! I must say, I'm sooo excited to share with you all my experiences and stories, so without further ado... here is my first post.

For those who don't know me, my name is Franz and I'm a future professional hairstylist currently attending the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology (Paul Mitchell). I spend most of my days dispensing beauty advice and styling hair and most of my nights telling all my stories to my very supportive family. I rarely get to have a good night's rest since I am also in a band called the 19diamonds. As the Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist, there is a lot of responsibility in marketing and just getting our name out and getting people to listen. All in all, I guess you can classify me as a "hustler" (not the kind that hustles you for your money, but the kind that takes action and has goals).

On top of going to day and night school for 12 hours a day and making music at night, I also work two jobs and take care of my baby sister as well. You must think I'm crazy by now, but hear me out. I go to day school 5 days a week for 8 hours a day, and on Thursdays and Fridays I go to both day and night for 12 hours. Tuesdays and Wednesdays after day school I work at my family owned salon Le Burge't Salon located in the Mission district in San Francisco,CA and on Sunday/Monday I work at the ISpa @ the Intercontinental hotel.

whew... now that I finally got to see my schedule in writing, I guess I AM crazy.
